Why Shop Organique?

Why We Are

Before Organique opened in early 2008, there was nowhere for the people of Totterdown, Bristol to get organic, natural, and ethical whole foods.

They were in need of something different!

In April 2008 our little shop opened its doors and quickly established itself at the heart of the local community.

From Organique you can pick up a loaf of Hobbs House Bread, a pint of Jess's Ladies Organic Milk and your everyday groceries and local organic produce.

Locals, as well as people from further a field, visit us to get the products that we all find hard to come by in most typical grocery shops.

Two years on and our shop has built a loyal and lovely customer base. People rely on Organique and we try our hardest to support their needs.

Since it was all going so well, we thought, why not help people outside of Bristol too? Why not use this thing called "the internet" to help us help you?

And www.shoporganique.co.uk was born... A warm welcome to you!

Where We Are

Of all the places in the UK, we can think of no better city than Bristol to start our business. It is a city that is truly dedicated to sustainable living. Bristol is Britain's first "Cycling City", has had Fairtrade City status since 2005, and is the only city in the UK to be nominated for the European Green Capital Award. It's no wonder both the Soil Association and the Environment Agency have their homes here!

A Thank You

We'd also like to take the time to say what a beautiful place Thistledown Environmental Centre is, as you can see from the photography across our site! We are very grateful to them for letting us use their fantastic scenery.

Thistledown is a wonderful organically managed farm with over 70 acres of rolling Cotswold countryside. A great day can be had by visitors of all ages, following the winding trails, enjoying a camping weekend away or interacting with nature through the variety of stimulating exhibits.
